Your parent or loved one may qualify for the Veterans’ Aid and Attendance Pension Benefit. This Pension provides an additional monetary benefit to assist eligible wartime Veterans, and/or their surviving spouse’s who require the regular assistance of another person with their daily activities, such as eating, bathing, dressing, and medication management.

Mexican Border War: 5/9/1916 - 4/5/1917
WWI 4/6/1917 - 11/11/1918 (extended to April 1, 1920, for those who served in the Soviet Union)
WWII: 12/7/1941 - 12/31/1946 (extended to 4/25/1947, where continuous with active duty on or before December 31, 1946)
Korean Conflict: 6/27/1950 - 1/31/1955
Vietnam Era: 8/5/1964 - 5/7/1975
Vietnam Era: 2/28/1961 - 5/7/1975 (must have served in the Republic of Vietnam during that period)
Persian Gulf War: 8/2/1990 - TBD by Presidential proclamation or law.91
